In February 2026, Wild Eggs, a contemporary breakfast, brunch, and lunch chain, opened its first Evansville location at 1223 Hirschland Road, Suite 105. Known for inventive, made-to-order dishes and a welcoming atmosphere, the menu features favorites like Kalamity Katie’s Border Benedict, Potato Head Casserole, and the award-winning Kelsey’s KY Brown. Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Metro Diner
Metro Diner made its Evansville debut in October 2025 at 945 N. Burkhardt Road in Lillian Plaza. This family-friendly restaurant offers a fresh take on classic American comfort food, including loaded omelets, biscuits and gravy, specialty burgers made with 100% Angus beef, and signature dishes like Iron City Meatloaf and Fried Chicken & Waffle. The diner seats 96 guests indoors and 24 on the patio, initially serving breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with plans to extend dinner service to 8 p.m. in the near future.
The Foundry Room
Located at 601 Walnut Street, The Foundry Room is downtown Evansville’s newest restaurant, drawing inspiration from the city’s ironworking heritage. The menu features classic American dishes reimagined with a focus on quality ingredients, such as signature fried chicken, blackened catfish over wild rice, and ribeye steaks. The restaurant also offers a thoughtfully crafted cocktail menu. Breakfast is served Monday through Friday from 6 to 10 a.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 7 to 11 a.m. Dinner hours are Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m.

Roppongi Closure and Raising Cane’s Arrival
After 15 years of serving Japanese cuisine, Roppongi Japanese Steak & Sushi, located at 7221 East Indiana Street, will permanently close its doors on July 31, 2026. The closure makes way for the arrival of Raising Cane’s, a fast-food chain specializing in chicken fingers. While the exact opening date for Raising Cane’s has not been announced, the transition marks a significant change in the local dining landscape.
